Five-Star Hotels in Hiriketiya

I rarely write such long reviews, but this place is truly amazing - it is something between a 5-star hotel and a hip beach community hangout. The location beyond amazing - it is right on the beach and there is a freshwater lagoon right next to the property - you can go paddle-boarding or kayaking in the lagoon if you want, or if you prefer the ocean - go there. Or both. Getting to the hotel is fun - a very narrow road meanders through a lush forest and you think you are going to the end of the world, then you arrive at a stylish hotel with a lush garden right on the beach and a elegant stylish pool in the middle. The pool looks like an architectural accent, but it is actually a pool. The hotel is right on the beach - you can even have a table moved to the sand if you want for breakfast, lunch or dinner - or anytime actually. The food and cocktails at this hotel are like at a 5-star establishment. But the staff is friendlier:-) The menu is traditional Sri Lankan with a twist of different flavors - some European, some Malaysian, a bit of Thai and African. The food is excellent, the fish is locally sourced from the fishermen that are 50 meters away. All of the rooms face the ocean. The options are a room with your own very large balcony facing the ocean, or a ground level room with your own spacious patio facing the ocean. The beach is about a kilometer long - empty, no umbrellas, no vendors, no shacks - just fishermen going about their business. If you feel like talking to them (most barely speak English) you could. If not, just set up camp under the shade of the palm tree and you feel like on a deserted island. Once that gets old you can go back to the hotel - the food, the cocktails and the service put a 5-star establishment to shame! Zander is the most excellent and amazing host ever and has the sweet, friendly dog named Loki, who is a constant source of "cuteness" around. This is a magical place!

I loved the premises, that speak classic luxury. Beautiful room and common space, especially the open living room that is a lovely area to relax at evenings, to do online work with a laptop, or chill with a cup of tea when it rains outside. The staff is very professional, and the maintenance/cleaning services impeccable. One of the main managers - Oshan is the most caring guardian!

Beautiful property with very comfortable spacious rooms with excellent facilities and very helpful friendly staff.

This truly is a luxury property right near a secluded beach. The view from our room was simply outstanding, and what a comfortable place to spend some holiday time. Service was great and we must mention how amazing the breakfast was. It was a little slice of excellence in Sri Lanka. There are even some quite good local restaurants (Athena was fabulous) within a short walk, and several beach cafes to pick from. Loved our stay.

Beautiful premises, amazing location and food.

Almost all the service in the hotel were very good including from the staff to management.we had a great and remarkable stay at Dickwella Resort and Spa. As I think this property and location is like a heaven on the south coast. I have never seen a location like this location. So, i can highly recommended to everyone who need to takes wonderful memories and experiences.

We had a lovely stay at Orchid Villa. The room was clean and spacious and the location is just few hundred meters from the beach. The owner is a very warm and kind person always happy to help with anything. We also had some great conversation at his garden patio. We would definitely recommend this place. Great value for money!

Absolutely everything. The staff are great, property is just beautiful and I loved the location. Beach is rocky so unfortunately you can’t swim directly off the hotel beach and the rooms to the side aren’t large, but this doesn’t detract from the experience. Breakfast was great. We didn’t dine in for dinner as we wanted to try the local fish restaurant at the next beach.

The spacious garden was great to walk around in and being in the middle of nature! The Villa itself is superb, very comfortable atmosphere and perfect attention to detail.
