Five-Star Hotels in Matemwe

I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for an incredible stay at The Mora in December and a second time in January. From the moment I arrived, every detail exceeded my expectations. The rooms are stunning, beautifully designed and immaculately maintained - making it a perfect retreat after a day of activities and enjoying the beach. Speaking of activities - I highly appreciated the wide range of activities available. There was never a dull moment, and the options ensured that there was something for everyone to enjoy. A special highlight for me were the fitness classes (held by Kanaan) and yoga classes (held by Sachin). Exactly what I was looking for when I screened the hotels available on Zanzibar because I love to move. Both instructors were exceptionally well-prepared, and their professionalism and passion created an inviting and energizing atmosphere. Kanaan and Sachin skillfully picked up individual needs and adapted their programs accordingly, which made the sessions enjoyable and impactful. The fitness sessions added so much value to my stay, and I left feeling rejuvenated and inspired at the same time. So if you are looking for being sportive during your stay as well, The Mora is a great fit. Thank you to both of them. The food was nothing short of amazing—each meal was beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The variety and quality made dining a memorable experience every time. While it was excellent the first stay, I was thrilled to see that it improved even further during my second stay in January. Thank you to the attentive service staff as well - and a special thank you to Ayoub, who very attentively took care of providing drinks during my beach stays :-) Last but not least, I also booked a few SPA retreats and I need to say that the massages were outstanding and everything was very clean and comfortable.

We really liked the hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and nicely furnished. Everything was in place and worked perfectly – air conditioning, water, and Wi-Fi.The staff was really helpful - you can see that they care. The food in the restaurant was tasty, with portions just right. The beach is wide and clean – perfect for walks and relaxing. The area is quiet, ideal for unwinding. If you're looking for a nice place to relax, it's definitely worth coming here!

Food was excellent. Service was friendly and welcoming from the Manager Rashid, Mariam and Abdulrahman. Hussein was also very friendly, nice to talk to.

Property was so clean and more beautiful than pictures.

Best hotel in Zanzibar, and we tried other 5star hotels too. The facilities, design, staff, pool, rooms, cocktails, service - 200 percent. All brand new. Very cozy. Especially the staff were amazing. We asked for fresh seafood barbeque, and they organised it for us. Tepanyaki dinner was also great. I wish we could stay longer!

The hotel was beautiful and so well kept, was pure luxury loved every minute of it. The chefs would come out and greet us and ask how u would like your meal. All staff were polite and made you feel special and comfortable. Highly recommended

The room itself was a sanctuary: immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and boasting a view that took our breath away. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and sipping coffee at the pool felt like a dream.

We all loved TUI and had amazing holidays. We would definitely come back! The property is beautiful, has a lot of activities and a tropical scenery. Now to the specifics: The staff in general were super friendly and happy. A special thanks to Kelvin from the beach bar. The food was absolutely amazing, from the breakfast buffet, to the lunch in green & grill (paid, as we had only half pension), to all the dinner options - except Andiamo, see below. We specially loved the buffets at the beach and around the pool. We did 2 tours from the hotel which were great and the same price of outside companies. We strongly recommend the swimming with dolphins tour, that can be book at the hotel’s diving shop. Go in the afternoon when there’s less people. They take you on a boat and when you see dolphins you jump to the water! It’s a good workout as you do this multiple times to get a perfect shot :) The swimming pool is great and always had chairs available - great due to the low tide at the beach. This side of the island has the low tide phenomenon which makes it impossible to go swim in the ocean for some hours. But that’s nature. If you do try, take aqua shoes because there’s a lot of sea urchins. There’s free sandwiches, fruit and water at the reception 24h/day.

Everything was excellent here and to a very high standard. Special thanks to Jacob, Lilian, Secelia and Zawadi who provided excellent service throughout our stay.

The property is excellent with a great location, excellent food and wonderful staff. The Namaste Indian Restaurant, Gusti Italian Restaurant & Pwani Restaurant have great food with very courteous staff.
