These are beautifully appointed bungalows that happen to feature tent-inspired rooflines and windows as an elegant nod to desert camping. Inside, you’ll find simple luxury: a spacious bathroom with double sinks, separate WC with bidet, rain shower with excellent water pressure, and a gorgeous large soaking tub. The interior showcases beautifully hewn desert wood and ceramic artworks that connect you to the local landscape, while maintaining sophisticated comfort. Maria’s design philosophy is genius—rustic minimalism that amplifies rather than competes with the desert’s natural serenity. The first morning, I woke to a perfectly framed view of an extinct Andean volcano, positioned like a living painting in my window. The service is out of this world. The whole staff makes all the effort to make you feel special in your stay. Thats what makes Tierra far ahead of its competitors in Atacama. The food was also a hot topic. Very elaborate dishes and so beautifully presented. I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends.

Boasting 3 swimming pools and a fitness centre, Cumbres San Pedro de Atacama offers rooms with private balconies 2 km from the Atacama Desert. Spa facilities include 2 hot tubs and 2 saunas. It’s a beautiful hotel, with very spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and the indoor/outdoor showers were fantastic, makes me wish I had that option at home! The pools were also lovely, and the breakfasts were delicious and the staff were always very helpful and attentive. Considering how dusty the air can get, it was impressive how clean everything was!
