The rom was perfect and the breakfast had plenty of choice to very good standard The tasting menu on Valentine’s Day was served and explained excellent and tasted perfect

With stunning and exclusive panoramic views of Lake Windermere, this beautiful country house is set right on the lake’s shore. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea on the stone terrace overlooking Windermere. The rooms were generously proportioned with high quality amenities. We had good options at breakfast with the flexibility to change. Very good view of Lake Windemere from the restaurant. Grounds were well kept.

Many overlook the lake and manicured gardens as well as the surrounding hills and mountains. A beautiful hotel with well appointed rooms and exceptional food. We especially loved the lounge as a refuge on rainy days.

The bar and lounge area have been upgraded and decorated with a contemporary style, and the gardens were re-landscaped to include a Victorian style gazebo. The Roundthorn has been awarded a 5-star VisitEngland Guest Accommodation rating, and a Gold Award. The food was superb Dinner especially, your chef should be particularly proud as everything was cooked to perfection And beautifully fresh Great breakfast too

All of the beautiful en suite rooms feature luxurious Egyptian cotton linen and sleek bathrooms with power showers. Applegarth Villa Hotel & Restaurant (Adult Only) rooms have free bottled water and digital radios. The property was beautiful in a reserved old building style. The breakfast room/dining room was gorgeous and the furnishings were stunning. Staff were lovely. It was just a few hundred metres to the Windermere strip shops, had private off road parking and the £3pp each way bus to Bowness where the lake cruises leave from was only a couple of hundred metres away. Breakfast was great and the staff very helpful with the luggage.
