Our hotel is perfectly situated with views of Lake Windermere, just a short stroll from the bustling village centre of Bowness-on-Windermere and the boats that travel the length of Windermere, making it easy to visit Ambleside, Brockhole, Wray Castle and Lakeside without a car. Location is perfect. The room with a balcony is a bonus.

Guests can enjoy afternoon tea on the stone terrace overlooking Windermere. This is such a wonderful property - everything was just perfect! The views, facilities, room, cleanliness, breakfast, dinner, service, and everything else was 10+. I hope I can spend time at Langdale Chase again. Pure magic!

The bar and lounge area have been upgraded and decorated with a contemporary style, and the gardens were re-landscaped to include a Victorian style gazebo. The Roundthorn has been awarded a 5-star VisitEngland Guest Accommodation rating, and a Gold Award. First class hotel. Friendly helpful staff, beautiful, comfortable room and excellent food. We were driving south from Scotland to Liverpool to join a cruise ship, unfortunately due to bad weather conditions our itinerary was changed and we elected not to sail. I rang the hotel on our way back north and were delighted that they were able to give us the same room. Would definitely stay at Roundthorn again.

*Most bedrooms have lake views, or of the gardens. The hotel is a Grade II* Listed building, decorated in a traditional Country House style. The staff members were really nice and friendly to me and my partner. The views are great as well.
