Set in Nara, Hotel Nikko Nara is connected to JR Nara Station. Tōdai-ji temple and the Nara Park can be reached within a 30-minute walk from the property. A public bath, gym, spa and massage facilities are available for guests. It more than met our expectations. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We barely got to enjoy the wide variety of services this hotel offered. It's a shame we only booked for two nights and had to get up very early to visit everything we had planned. The hotel has four dining options. We had dinner one night at the Japanese restaurant and, frankly, it was very good, despite the initial difficulty in selecting the dishes, which were all in Japanese. Due to our planning, we weren't able to enjoy afternoon tea at another of the hotel's restaurants, as we would have liked. We did have breakfast one day, very early, at the "Capital" bakery/café, where they make many delicious pastries and cakes daily. It was located in the same building, but one floor down.
