The staff was very kind and attentive. The food was a bit pricey after adding all the taxes and service charge, but it was really good.

Offering an outdoor swimming pool, Villa Velmarie is located just 2.4 km from the Bentota River Airport. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the property. My 8 day stay at Villa Velmarie was amazing and truly special! As woman traveling on my own, I felt very safe all the time. If you want to have a authentic Avuyeda experience and get to know Sri Lankan hospitality, this is definitely the place to go! The team of Villa Velmarie is just amazing, very friendly, helpful and always smiling. There are not many words needed to understand that the whole team cares with so much passion about all guests. There are only six room, so that you feel like becoming a member of Velmarie family. During my stay they were only three other guests, so that the atmosphere was just perfect and so nice! All treatments by my therapist Chaturani were excellent! The flower bath and the Shirodhare were my favorite treatments. The massages and oil treaments are wonderful as well. The cook prepares fresh and very delicious Sri Lankan foods, which she serves with a big smile. The manager tries to fulfill all wishes and helps to organise taxi rides and trips. The garden and pool area is very clear and beautiful, thanks to the great gardener who works all day. The cleaning lady provides fresh towels whenever you want and keeps everything nice and clean! The yoga lession is a perfect start of your day. Highly recommend to go there!

Small boutique hotel at the outskirts of Bentota, lovely for those who wants peace and quiet. The beach is empty, just in front of the hotel, the sea is wavy, but no rocks, it’s all yours, you can ride the waves if you like - of course it’s not for kids or seniors. The hotel is new, which is very important here, so no smells, fresh rooms and new white linen. Incredible personnel - all my requests were served immediately ❤️.

Amazing welcome, kindness and availability of staff delighted us throughout our stay. The hotel is very nice and well located, directly on the beach. It is very nice to have this view during dinner or having one of their delicious cocktails. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country to which we will return because there is still much to see. I loved the staff especially Sachini Dissanayaka and Jay Aru. The guest relations staff member had strong interpersonal skills and friendly mannerism. I was not happy with the first room given to me and was afraid the next one they showed me also might not be great. However, the next one exceeded my expectation. It was absolutely beautiful with a view. There was agency in providing a nice experience. It is a beautiful hotel where I have stayed every time I visited for over 25 years when it was the Triton.
