Most impressive was the Church that was still there and active, incorporated in the domain. One of the most beautiful Churches we saw on our trip in Portugal. Nice outside pool area and a little spa and inside pool.

The intro to the hotel and facilities was great. Welcome drink on one of the terraces (we chose which one) was lovely overlooking the pool! The room we had was fabulous, we were upgraded on arrival which was lovely. The food in the restaurant was particularly good, we ate there for both of our two night stay. The decor around the hotel is fantastic. Very different, but amazing to see. We absolutely loved the hotel and staff and will definitely come back.

Each spacious and modernly-decorated room or suite includes a flat-screen satellite TV, air conditioning and a balcony. The seating area opens to the terrace and some of the suites are duplexes. Featuring a bath or shower, the private bathroom also comes with a hairdryer. The setting is magical, surrounded by forest but not far from the sea. The accomodation is a series of cabin-like rooms a short walk into the main lobby/restaurant area. There is a desk & bar area & plenty of cupboard space. The bed & pillows were very comfortable, and the deck & the views to the gardens outside very peaceful. The grounds are beautiful, including a fully labelled herb and vegetable garden. There are 2 pool areas, one for kids which is also a great idea. Transport can be arranged by golf cart to and from the restaurant but we enjoyed the walk. The breakfast was excellent, huge range of choices, and the dinners too, although it was pretty pricey. There is a separate spa centre and its a 10 minute drive into Comporta.

The air-conditioned rooms at Pousada Mosteiro do Crato have a private balcony, cable TV, a minibar, and an en suite bathroom. All rooms are decorated with warm colours and dark wooden furniture. The staff was amazing and very welcoming, helping with the bags and getting us settled in our rooms and explaining how everything worked. Dinner here was excellent as was the buffet breakfast the next day.
