The amenities were exceptional and breakfast buffet was another highlight, featuring everything from fresh tropical fruits and made-to-order omelets to locally baked pastries and fresh-pressed juices. What truly set this hotel apart, though, was the service. Every staff member, from the concierge to the housekeeping team, went above and beyond. It is a place I’ll return to without hesitation and recommend to anyone seeking a memorable stay.

The accommodation offers 5-star accommodation with a spa centre and terrace. This hotel is amazing, the vibe feels like a special oasis in a beautiful desert. The outdoor pool is is magical as it looks in the photo, it also has an indoor pool and a really beautiful sauna too. The rooms are spacious and clean/new feeling, with really comfortable beds. The food is great, and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. Absolutely 10/10 of a hotel, we'll be back!

São Lourenço do Barrocal is located in the foothills of the medieval village of Monsaraz and nearby the Alqueva lake. The pet-friendly property is set in a 780-hectare estate, which comprises a restaurant, a bar lounge, a pool bar, a Spa with fitness centre, a winery and a store. Wow, what a gem of a hotel. This is a truly spectacular property that exceeded even our high expectations. The staff and service were fantastic and the place gives you an immediate sense of calm. The surroundings are absolutely stunning. What we also appreciated was that the food, drinks and activities were not overpriced, so you left feeling like you were not taken advantage of, which can be the case for a lot of high end hotels. The food was delicious and in beautiful settings.

Gorgeous marble throughout. Very spacious and elegant bedroom with balcony to sit in overlooking the pool. Superb breakfast. Great pool complex. Walk 1/2 block to the town square.
