The whole experience from start to finish was delightful. A wonderful location in a remote part of the countryside with great facilities and helpful staff. One of the best places we stayed at on our trip to Costa Rica.

Trogon Lodge is located 1.5 km from San Gerardo de Dota town centre and 9 km from Los Quetzales National Park. It features an extensive garden, a terrace and BBQ facilities.

The hotel is very special. We had our own cosy lodge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. As it can be a bit cold at night, we even had hot-water bottles. There is also a heater. In the spacious area of the Trogon Lodge, there is very much to see, for example different species of plants and animals like humming birds, lizards and even Quatzals. The lodge does also offer a shorter and a longer exciting hiking track in the cloud forest. We booked a Quetzal watching tour in the morning and really saw about 5 Quetzals.

Offering an a la carte restaurant, Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge is located in Providencia. It is surrounded by private tropical gardens and boasts an on-site art gallery and free daily breakfast.

Beautiful setting and the place to see birds. The rooms were cozy, the restaurant was excellent, and the view spectacular. Expect somewhat chilly nights, but crisp, clear air.

Located in San Isidro, 36 km from Cerro de la Muerte, Hotel Zima provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a garden.

The breakfast was really nice with several options to chose from. The staff was always friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the pool. The menu for lunch and dinner was also good, with a large variety of options to chose from, also for vegetarians.
