Absolutely loved our cosy cabin at Matachica. Fairy tale arrival by speed boat with drinks awaiting us was an amazing start to the holiday. The resort is quiet, stylish and very tastefully decorated. It never felt busy even though i think it was over half full. The food was amazing! The chef knows what they're doing - fantastic bread and breakfast pastries but every meal was delicious. However, what made our trip were the staff - everyone was so kind and willing to help in any possible way. We had problems with our air conditioning unit and after an initial fix failed they replaced the whole unit whilst giving we the option to change rooms if we wanted (we didn't - we were too settled) Lovely people but i also found that generally true of Belize. Thank you so much. Do try the trips - we borrowed a kayak to go to the reef across from the hotel and snorkel with sting rays but also did organised Hol Chan trip including swimming with nurse sharks which was fabulous.

Offering a freshwater pool, patio bar and free WiFi in common areas, SunBreeze Suites is set on the beach on the tropical island of Ambergris Caye, just steps from the largest Barrier Reef in the Western Hemisphere and UNESCO world heritage site. Locate was great, you could walk right out on the beach to bars and restaurants or into the town for shopping, and food. Staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay
