Everything was great organized, from the boat ride in Cartagena over welcome and all the meals. They also work together with the local community. And I really loved it that they don’t play music. You enjoy the silence and see a lot of animals in and out of water. Had a room with a private balcony over the see: marvelous!

The location, pool, rooms were so beautiful. The staff every single one of them was amazing so friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. In particular we would like to thank Jorge Luis luna, Samantha at reception and Yao for being so helpful and accommodating, and lovely people. The staff speak good English and mentioned they are all getting English lessons which is fantastic. The food is 10/10 we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here each day and the food was just so beautiful. It is a little more expensive but you do not mind spending this money when the food is of that quality. They organise some events on some evenings like cocktail making classes, wine tasting, pizza nights. You have the option to choose to avail of this..there is no pressure if you choose not to. At the weekend during the day it is a little more lively but it's fine and we'll managed. Then by 5pm it gets quieter and becomes really peaceful.. They went they extra mile and offered us complimentary glasses of champagne, cocktails as it was our honeymoon. The extra touches of welcome cocktail, turn down service with gifts for guests was also amazing. The communication about the transport from Cartagena and boats was excellent We could not find any fault in this hotel. We would 100% recommend. Thank you for everything.

Probably the best fish I ever had or just delicious coconut rice, delicious salad and potatoes. Also loved the simple pasta that was offered as an alternative. I think people should give the hostess more grace. A lot of the rudeness that people attest her probably comes from misunderstandings, as she is not really fluent in English, which you can‘t expect in a foreign country. On top of that people don‘t seem to understand, that everything has to be brought to the island: water, food and so on.

Hotel Playa Scondida Barú is a rustic-style lodge on Baru Island, 1 hour from Cartagena by motorboat. It offers thatched bungalows that overlook the Caribbean over the private dock where guests can relax and use the sun beds. We had an amazing stay at this property - the staff are so lovely and extremely helpful and accommodating. It feels like an exclusive experience because it's secluded and not over-packed with guests. The food we had here was the best during our trip to Colombia, the chefs deserve all the praise for cooking up some delicious dishes. Cocktails were tasty - we felt so spoilt with the service we received. Lots of great nooks and secluded areas to read a book or lounge by the pool. I would highly recommend staying at this property if you are looking for a relaxing break. Thank you so much to the great team at Playa Scondida!
