Situated in Grasmere, 12 km from Windermere, Victorian House features parking is limited and offered on a first come and first served basis.

The rooms come with a flat-screen TV. Some units include a seating area where you can relax. Certain units feature views of the mountains or garden. Victorian House features free WiFi . As a cyclist I asked to laundry. They did with no charge.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning.

Each stylish room has fresh light décor. The breakfast choices and the system in place for everyone to have a table when they wanted and pre-ordered breakfast was great. Lovely setting. Extras on the buffet were great.

Dating from around 1659, the String of Horses is a traditional coaching inn is set in the country village of Faugh, 8 miles from Carlisle and junction 43 of the M6 motorway.

A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. It offers stone walls and en suite bathrooms.

The property's dining room mixes traditional and modern dishes based on locally sourced products. Dishes feature Cumbrian game and locally caught fish. By far, one of my favourite places to stay! We loved the outdoor terrace, the spectacular views and the genuine staff! Not to mention, great breakfast! Also, loved the idea of having dogs allowed - there were so many around which really added to the wonderful ambience :)

Original Victorian period features adorn the property, which also offers a cosy lounge. This is a lovely place to spend 1 or several nights. House is immaculately kept and owners are on site and very accommodating. We very much appreciated the effort they put in to a positive guest experience.
