Found by bubbling geothermal springs in Hveragerdi, this hotel offers an outdoor pool and 2 hot tubs and sauna. All rooms include bathrobes, slippers and a 32-inch flat-screen TV. Wi-Fi is free. We stayed at the Frost and Fire hotel from the 28th December - 1st January. From the time we arrived until the time we left, the staff couldn't do enough for us. They were very friendly and approachable. Marianne even made us a packed lunch as we had to leave before breakfast for the airport. We really appreciated it. The views are breathtaking. We were very lucky that it snowed during the time we were there. The natural hot springs baths were an added special extra! We took a walk from the hotel up the mountain (the hotel will give you a route). We really recommend you do this! It took around 2 hours! We booked to go on a northern lights tour. You should definitely do this, but know it isn't guaranteed to see them. However, we saw the lights from the hotel on two evenings, so there is definitely a chance you can for that! The room was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. We could see the sunrise every morning! Wow! The food needs to be mentioned. It was delicious and worth every penny. We had breakfast and an evening meal twice there. The Icelandic buffet on New Year’s Eve was amazing! Also the fireworks were out of this world! 🎆 We walked up the mountain path to see them and would definitely recommend you do that!
