We had one lovely bedroom and shared the lounge and eating area with another couple which was great fun. Plenty of space in the shared part of the property. Breakfast was great. Met the hosts Ron and Allison on the last night and they are lovely friendly people.

Free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the house. Beautiful view out the window facing the park. Located on a quiet street. Parking was around the side, getting the key from the lockbox was no issue.

Quiet and relaxing, breakfast setup was very convenient, seems to be tucked away from everything, but still close to town (~15 min drive) and not far from Tongariro Alpine crossing car park (~40 min drive). There are several common spaces available to guests such as the library, hot tub, sitting room and dining room.

The Powderhorn Chateau is situated in Ohakune, at the entrance to Tongariro National Park. Just 300 metres from Ohakune Station, the property offers a heated indoor swimming pool, a restaurant and free on-site parking. Free WiFi is available at the hotel. Love the mulled wine (the best I've ever had in nz). The restaurant was full and the food was amazing, we had seafood chowder, pork ribs, and a burger. The room is spacious and love the idea of providing the electronic blanket.
