Fabulous hotel 10 mins from the port. Large hotel with large rooms/bathrooms and great sea views. Check in was a breeze, extremely polite and helpful reception staff, very happy to share their knowledge and experiences. They have a great rooftop bar by the pool (too cold to swim when I was here), but I did go to the rooftop bar several times. Staff was amazing, made great drinks (try the Poncha!) and always made me feel welcome. Breakfast was phenomenal, huge breakfast room with hot, cold, veggies, local fruits. Competent and polite staff...always very clean, delicious!! Highly recommend this hotel!! 10 stars!

Set on Madeira’s South Coast, Ponta do Sol has a stunning infinity pool and hot tub with panoramic views. Perfect location, perfect service, perfect food:) This place was worth every cent (or penny, depends on your currency of choice). I'm so happy I didn't decide to stay in Funchal or any other hotel closer to the airport. This place had a soul.

Hotel Porto Mare is located 2.5 km from Funchal city centre and 19 km from Madeira Airport. Airport transfers can be arranged, at an extra fee. Very clean. Many services are available, in the hotel and around it. Close to the beach and not far from the center. The room was huge!
