It was a very eerie experience and we totally enjoyed it. Staying and sleeping in the middle of nature is must do in Madeira ❤️ the showers had hot water, toilets clean, the bed was comfy and the blankets warm. Be aware there are lizards eeeeverywhere 😅 the location very nice, on a more rural and hidden part of Madeira :)

Wonderful view, wonderful Carla who wa very helpful in every step. It was one of the niciest stays. The interior and all the gardes is full of beauty. The sea view is incredible. Would definately recommend.

The host was fantastic, so friendly, professional and helpful. The shelters are located right at the centre of plenty of hiking trails. Very peaceful. The shelter was very clean, cosy and modern. A 10/10 restaurant/bar is located a short walk from the accommodation with delicious food and drink, suitable for breakfast lunch and an evening meal.

simply amazing - beautiful nature around, quiet at night, spacious enough for a couple even for a longer stay, super comfortable bed, many hiking routes directly accessible, animals around - donkeys, wild rabbis and peacocks...it really had all we needed + the best host...thank you and hope to be back!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Mountain Eco Shelter. The location is beautiful - the lodges are in a beautiful Ecological Park full of plants and flowers. You can do hikes directly from the lodges. The lodges themselves have everything you need - a great kitchen, a comfortable bed and a balcony with a stunning view. The staff here are really friendly and helpful. There’s even a snackbar down the road where you can grab dinner & drinks. We loved every minute of our stay here and we are already planning to come back again.

Lovely cabin surrounded by mountain views, we saw so many stars at night. There's a great place to eat and drink (O Barracão), just 10 mins walk from the cabin, and it's only 20 minutes drive from Funchal (we had a rental car, but I believe there's a bus stop nearby too). It felt like a little home away from home, bed was very comfortable, shower was excellent and the little kitchenette had a stove top, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and fridge. Our host was wonderful, very welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations. I would definitely stay here again!

Location amongst the trees, great hikes nearby (including the famous Pico to Pico, which starts a short drive away) and a sunset hike on the doorstep, peaceful, friendly meet & greet from host and quick responses to messages, but not hassled. Bedding, towels and shower etc of good quality. Comfortable bed. Heater warmed the cabin up nicely when required.
