Most activities on-site are free, which is a huge plus, and I also added the dolphin watching tour—an unforgettable, magical experience that I highly recommend! One of my best memories in Sri Lanka, and honestly, you could easily spend a whole week here without ever getting bored. I can’t wait to come back!

The tent offers a private entrance, a tea and coffee maker, a terrace with lake views as well as a private bathroom featuring a shower. The unit offers 2 beds. Beautiful boutique safari lodge. The individual attention and a caring team made us feel very special. Secluded, overlooking paddy fields. Delicious and authentic Sri Lankan food. Ranil and his team undertook one of the largest study of Sloth Bears so they know a thing or two when it came to the safari. We spent a day ticking off the most wonderful array of wildlife. We were here as a family and couldn’t be more happy.

The fireplace is the standout feature of this tent. The tent features a washing machine, a private entrance, as well as a private bathroom boasting a walk-in shower and a bath. I had a wonderful stay with Riswan and his family. They truly care about offering the best possible experience to their guests and sharing the beauty of their region. They even managed to organize a last-minute safari for me at a very reasonable price, especially considering how well the day went (great driver, breakfast + lunch included) – $50 for a half day, $95 for a full day. As for the wildlife, I was lucky not only in the park but also around the village where the guesthouse is located. It’s not uncommon to see one or even several elephants passing by – though of course, that’s up to Mother Nature! Overall, a fantastic experience. A big thank you to Riswan and his brother for their kindness and for taking the time to help me plan my route. Good to know: there’s a local bus that runs from the village to Puttalam for 150 LKR, 1h, starting around 7 AM, with connections to many other destinations from there.

This unique tent is set on the border of the National Park and comes with a private bathroom. So wonderfull place! It was a great expirience to stay at the Big Game Safari camp. The people are so friendly and kind and the candle light diner is so good and like A fairytale. We love Everything about it and had also A beautifull Safari day. Book A hole day Safari instead of A half day is my advice

Très bel éco lodge en pleine nature mais avec tout le confort nécessaire avec un personnel très prévenant et agréable. Très bons dîners et petits déjeuners. Tea time très agréable en fin de journée. Safari bien organisé.

Truly a great experience and a must of you visit Wilpattu National park. The staff goes above and beyond to make your as enjoyable as they can. They are the true heroes of the resort.

Son hôte : Hashran était aux petits soins pour s’assurer que tout se passait bien ! Ses petits plats sont délicieux et très copieux 😋 Il m’a également donné plein de conseils pour la suite de mon voyage et c’était très intéressant d’échanger avec lui pour en apprendre plus sur le Sri Lanka ! Il y a même des vélos à disposition, bien pratiques pour aller à la plage ou visiter le village voisin
