The location, the views, the history, the restaurant. Room was as described - King bed, big room, big bathroom. Views down the lawn to the lake were beautiful. It’s a short 5-10 minute walk up to Donnington Castle and walking around the grounds is beautiful too. Plus a short 20 min drive over to Highclere Castle. Fun fact: the golf course is the location of a civil war battle!

The beds were comfortable, the family room was spacious, breakfast was good and it was quite proximate to the important places we wanted to visit.
