Tosi was also an incredible host who went above and beyond to make my stay as special as possible.

Lovely place about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. We were there on 2 cold days in March but our room was warm with a heater and electric blankets. Very comfortable beds and an onsen in the room. We had a beautiful view out our window and in nice weather it would be lovely to sit outside but not on this visit. You eat downstairs in a pleasant dining room. The 2 dinners were fabulous and well prepared but we couldn't eat much of the breakfast (it was all Japanese), other guests loved it. But on the second day the cooks made us a delicious breakfast that kept us going all day. The owner is very helpful, he cares a lot about his guests, he's still working on the place and it will be really nice when it's done.

Hotel staff are very helpful, and the food is delicious. Food portion is big and we are all very content after every meal.

SEKIYA RESORT Terrace Midoubaru is located a 15-minute drive from JR Beppu Station and boasts guestrooms with a semi open-air bath. Guests can soak in the hot spring bath. Private parking is available for an additional fee. The property had everything we needed but was still close enough to a convenience store, restaurants and other attractions.

Located in Hita and only 39 km from Kinrinko Lake, Shinshiyo provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This 3-star ryokan offers a lift and luggage storage space. The ryokan features family rooms. Great experience of staying here. It was calm and relaxing to have open air bath in the middle of forest. We could see tranquil atmosphere of Amagase onsen village with wall-like mountain alongside the river. Kaiseki dinner was fantastic. We could see true Japanese hospitality here. Free Wi-Fi is available at the lobby, and pets are welcome at a charge. It was a wonderful experience way above my expectations, room was clean, spacious and comfortable (i wish i have home like this :D). View from the room was amazing, straight on Yufu mountain relaxing and breathtaking especially when taking morning bath in open air private onsen in the room (there were 3 onsens in room). Dinner and breakfast were very exquisite, it was real ryokan experience for me in a very luxurious environment . Staff was very kind and helpful, it makes you feel like you don't want to leave.

The host is an amazing lady who is very accommodating and takes the time to properly convene and explain everything. She even gave a small note in the morning with breakfast to wish a nice day (In English, though she speaks very little).

The accommodation features luggage storage space and a concierge service for guests. A stunning place full of beautiful craftsmanship. We loved it and felt so lucky to have stayed. Hita is a beautiful town. Definitely be back

New Matsumi Hotel is just a 10-minute walk away from Beppu Station and a 10-minute drive from Beppu Museum of Art and Beppu-Kaihama sand baths. Takegawara Hot Springs famous for its sand bath is a 5-minute walk, while Umitamago Aquarium is a 15-minute drive, Harmony Land is a 30-minute drive and African Safari is a 30-minute drive away. Yufuin Hot Springs is a 40-minute drive away. We got the room with a private onsen bath and it was super spacious and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay to the fullest. The sea view was stunning and we got to see the sunrise, which was incredibly beautiful. The breakfast was balanced and big, but almost too big for us as we kind of had to stuff ourselves to finish everything. All in all, I can highly recommend this place!
