Big Skies Guesthouse is located close to the N1 and N2 national roads, 10 minutes' drive from Sir Lowry's Pass and 30 km away from Stellenbosch. Golf courses and wine estates are located nearby. The location is ideal. Gordon's Bay is a nice little town, not far from Cape Town or the airport. The setting is spectacular, with mountains and sea, and the beach is protected from major waves. There are a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance. The town is safe and the property secure. There is a beautiful drive along the coast towards Betty's Bay, which I highly recommend. There is a colony of African penguins there. Big Skies has a small pool, which we used in the heat of the afternoon. The breakfasts were very good, and there was a decent amount of variety. I enjoy the personal attention of guesthouses and small hotels, and Kobus and Irene were excellent hosts. Conversation at breakfast and the bar with them and other guests was enjoyable. Parking is inside the property gates and is secure.

A range of activities are available in the area, such as golfing, biking, hiking, restaurants, wine routes, beaches, scenic drives and bird watching either on the estate or close by. Our stay here was great. The hosts were very friendly and they serve the best breakfast with an excellent view of the sea. The pool is great and the bed was huge and the room was super clean. You are in a safe area and can easily take an Uber down to the city. A really great stay here, we would do it again.
