NetherlandsMarcin was an excellent host! We booked a room last minute and arrived after a long (and especially wet) day of walking. Since the master suite wasn't taken for that night, Marcin offered us that room instead of the one we booked, because "a bath would be nice after a long walk. Such a pleasant surprise! The room was gorgeous, having a bathroom, a room for the bath and beautiful views of Loch Goil. It was also very spacious so we were able to dry our tent in the room.
After we enjoyed a bath, Marcin even gave us some delicious Polish homemade soup. We enjoyed our soup in the beautiful dining room, again with beautiful views of the Loch and we even spotted a dolphin! He had also made very delicious chocolate truffels, which we enjoyed together with a cup of coffee. The guest house also had a living room with fire place, making us feel right at home.
We slept so well. The bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed a home cooked breakfast and it was (again) delicious! After our breakfast Marcin even offered to drop us off at the start of the hike instead of having to walk alongside the road to Lochgoilhead. We also enjoyed the conversations we had with Marcin. He is a very kind and interesting person and we loved that he came by for a chat (and to check whether everything was alright) every now and then.
Even though we didn't have the time to enjoy the guesthouse fully (there is also a heated cabin with amazing views and an outside terrace that we didn't use), we would definitely recommend going here! And if you have the time, this would be the perfect place to relax and fully enjoy the surroundings for a couple days.
