Lincoln is a beautiful historic city to explore and the Poplars is well located in the old part of town with a short cut up to the castle and parking available if booked ahead. Facilities are good, the room was very clean, the bed very comfortable. Added extras like home made teabags were a lovely touch. The host is very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. They make a lot of effort to have local produce and artisan goods.

The hotel was easy to find and in a great location, our room was superb, and comfortable in every aspect, we stayed for two nights and the room was cleaned and all items replenished by the cleaners. The kitchen area downstairs was absolutely brilliant, and spotless, if you wanted to cook a full meal for yourselves, you would literally have no problem at all.

So much to like! The rooms are large, high ceilings, very comfy beds and scrupulously clean. The rooms come with a TV and Virgin Media, tea, coffee, etc, free fast WiFi, and there are ton of books to borrow in the hallways if that is more your jam. Breakfast is simple, but tasty, toast and assorted jams etc, pastries, cereal and yogurts. The best thing about the breakfast was that it is self serve, and not time limited. So if you're lazy like me, it's perfect. There is a common room where the host was kind enough to let my group play boardgames in, so what sets Crittlewood apart however is the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner.
