Very nice facilities and kind hosts. It is really close to Wakuya station, so its convenient to use it as a base for sightseeing around the area. I will definetly be back if I have the chance.

I liked that it was on the edge of the big city, close to the beach. Active life-YADO was excellent In every way. Well designed, clean, user friendly. Lovey communal area with a great kitchen. Friendly staff, prepared to help in any way they could. I've been hiking the Michinoku trail and have been in Japan for 2 months and this is the best guesthouse that I've stayed in. Thank you Leo.

It is a lovely old house with the garden, but renovated inside. I spent several calm days there.

The owner speaks excellent English and was very helpful throughout our stay. We had a room next to the bathroom which made using the shared facilities easier (but being Japan these are very clean). The owner offered us some plum wine as a welcome. Parking is in a line outside the house so you need to juggle cars a bit but it wasn't a problem as the owner was always on hand. Excellent air con which is essential in the summer hear. The property was excellent value and perfectly located for the centre of Matsushima. The property could probably benefit from a common area with coffee / tea making so there is somewhere to sit aside from the rooms. There is such a room but I think it is still being developed.
