Very clean place, very clean bed (cleanest bed we had so far in Sri Lanka), beautiful view and balcony in front of every room. Bathroom with very hot water and window. Super nice host. Breakfast very tasty and variable. Located a bit on the hill, walk about 5-10 minutes to the centre, restaurants nearby, but also nature. Perfect location. Mr. Upali is very nice and perfectly organised. Thank you very much

I travelled to Ella with my wife for holiday. We found Grand Rock View to be a small, tranquil place with a great character. Our room with balcony offered us the views of the whole valley where the city of Ella is located, including the Ella Rock and the waterfalls. It was a pleasure to just sit there and watch the world go by in the evenings. The place was quiet, as it is located away from any main roads. However, the centre of Ella can be reached from there by a 5-minute walk on the nearby railway tracks (which is how people normally get around there). The host was great, helped us to orient ourselves for our hikes to the nearby hills and was bent to fulfil any of our wishes. He also recommended to us several interesting dining options in Ella. The breakfast at the resort was very good and enjoyable. We enjoyed our stay at Rock Grand View very much.

I highly recommend Shining Green View Resort to anyone visiting Ella. The hospitality here is truly exceptional. The host, Mr. Gayan, was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. When our travel guide unexpectedly abandoned us halfway, he stepped in,not just as a host, but as a true guide and support system for all 17 of us until we safely moved on to our next destination. Mr. Gayan, along with his dedicated worker Rooban, went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful holiday and sightseeing experience in Ella. His kindness and generosity are unmatched, making him an epitome of true hospitality. Words cannot express how grateful I am—we truly need more people like him in this world. The entire team was friendly, kind, supportive, and always ready to help. The resort offers a scrumptious and generous breakfast, and we were delighted to enjoy authentic home-cooked Sri Lankan cuisine at their café. The breathtaking morning views from the café made our dining experience even more special, creating a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. I must say, the success of our retreat was in large part thanks to Mr. Gayan, Rooban, their amazing team, and the wonderful experience at Shining Green View Resort.

Truly breathtaking view of Ella Rock and the nearby waterfall – an unforgettable sight. The room and bathroom were clean, and we felt comfortable overall. However, due to Ella’s naturally high humidity, there were some mold on the walls and a slight musty smell in the air. The Wi-Fi was unstable at times, but the host was extremely helpful and did his best to fix it. We really appreciated his kind attitude and genuine care for the guests. Breakfast was excellent – always fresh, varied, and delicious. A nice extra touch was having an umbrella available, which comes in handy given Ella’s frequent rain. Overall, a positive experience – a lovely place with a great view and thoughtful service

Location of the place is amaizing and the proprty owners treated like us a family they are very clos in one day.. Treatment was awesom.. provided us th breakfast mainly Passion fruit juice is ultimate, need to thank Aunty who was very simple & gave us the proprty surely will stay again if i am in ella again
