And his guesthouse turned out to be a wonderful escape from a busy and touristy Yunnan. I am so happy I went and will be back many times again! The guesthouse itself is a great value for the price - huge clean rooms, excellent shower, amazing fews, fantastic common space, great meals, good homely atmosphere. Though the real gem is Jackie. From the moment I made a booking to the day AFTER my departure Jackie always made himself available to answer all the questions, help with transportation, plan my days, give advice. Once locals learned I was Jackie's guest, I always got royal treatment wherever I went - that's how much he is respected. And deservingly so. He planned a perfect hiking day for me by providing clear descriptions of all trails, drawing maps, even giving pictures of trail views for reference. He was also in constant contact to make sure I was on the right path. I am city person, and even though Jackie did all the hand-holding and everything for me not to get lost, I got lost anyway. And ended up with a dead phone battery in the middle of nowhere ricefields caught in the rain very late evening. Jackie, being Jackie, got in the car and went searching for me. With the help of the locals in one of the surrounding villages, Jackie was able to locate me and safely brought me back. I was overwhelmed with gratitude! I have never experienced such caring and generous host in all my years of travel. I will fondly remember Yuanyang and Jackie, who made Yuanyang simply perfect!

L’établissement Dali Yunxi Boutique Inn bénéficie d’un emplacement attractif dans le centre de Dali. By far the best hotel during our stay in Yunnan. Great position, nice and clean rooms, good homemade breakfast. The hosts both know english and are very communicative and helpful. We felt very welcome.

I rate this place a perfect 10 in every aspect—location, staff, facilities, comfort, and overall charm! Mandy and her assistant were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making our stay truly memorable. Communication was prompt, and they even prepared breakfast for us daily. For Muslim travelers, rest assured that Halal or dietary preferences are well taken care of. The hosts are very understanding and will ensure your breakfasts are prepared to your liking. We stayed here in December, and as someone from a tropical country, I found it super cold! Thankfully, the rooms are well-equipped with heaters to keep you cozy. The heated toilet seat, hot shower, and hot bath were absolute lifesavers after a day out in the chilly weather. They really think of everything when it comes to amenities. They provided essentials like a hair dryer, comb, toothpaste, toothbrush, robes, and towels, so you don’t have to worry about packing these items. The room was cleaned daily, and they even brought drinking water to our room every day. The property also has two adorable (and very large!) dogs. They are incredibly calm and quiet, so there’s no need to worry about them being jumpy or loud—they’re a delight to have around. Mandy went above and beyond to make our trip stress-free. She helped us order food to be delivered to our room, booked taxis for us, and even arranged tickets to watch the Lijiang Impression Show. The location is unbeatable, right in Lijiang's Old Town. We strolled around every afternoon/evening, exploring the charming shops and soaking in the sights. Plus, there’s a Halal restaurant just 300–400 meters away, which is very convenient. I can’t recommend this place enough—it was such a warm and comfortable experience. Thank you so much, Mandy!

J'ai eu le privilège de séjourner quatre nuits dans ce merveilleux établissement parfaitement situé et très bien tenu par sa sympathique propriétaire. Elle était très attentive à mes besoins et m'a grandement aidée à avoir la meilleure expérience possible durant mon séjour. Ses recommandations et son aide ont fait toute la différence pour mon voyage! La chambre était très confortable et propre. Jolie salle de bain toute rénovée. Literie de qualité. Balcon avec elle vue. I can't find the words to describe how perfect my stay was. The room was immaculate, the bedding extremely comfortable. The toiletries were top of the range. And the breakfasts... absolutely delicious! Located 2 minutes from the center, this hotel is ideal for a relaxing stay in Shaxi. The host, Lynn, was lovely and always helpful to this French tourist who doesn't speak Chinese (me)! She also sells pottery featuring the local cat mascot: Wa Mao. If I wasn't backpacking for six months, I would have loved to buy some, they're so cute. Just go! ☀️

L’établissement 叁三民宿 vous accueille à Dali, à 4,3 km de ce lieu d’intérêt : Porte Erhai. We recently stayed at this delightful B&B, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish! The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming. The room was cozy, impeccably clean。The location was also ideal, close enough to explore nearby attractions but still peaceful and relaxing. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, which is really convenient. Strongly recommended!

L’établissement 山田心精品民宿 Valley Heart Inn se trouve à Lijiang, à respectivement 1 km et 1,1 km de ces lieux d’intérêt : Nanmen Bridge et Zhongyi Market. A wonderful homestay with warm, helpful owners who shared great local tips and thoughtfully arranged a ground-floor room for my elderly parents. Everything was excellent—just note that vehicle access can be a bit challenging due to the narrow road, and a short walk from the main road is required.
