The Ancient Briton provides certain units with mountain views, and all rooms are fitted with a kettle. Absolutely lush stay. Our room had a view of the mountain, we had a wide choice for our cooked breakfast and it was so delicious and locally sourced. The staff were very helpful and kind. The pub had a fireplace and large selection of ales and NA drinks. Very cozy vibes. We basically only left to go hiking or see the mountains and ate as much as we could off the incredible menu at the pub in the two nights we stayed!

The room had character but was tastefully decorated. The entrance and staircase is incredible! Breakfast was top notch. It was a great stay.

Boasting a tennis court and views of mountain, James' Place at Brynawel is a guest house set in a historic building in Merthyr Tydfil, 37 km from Cardiff University. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the guest house free of charge. Cardiff Castle is 39 km from the guest house and Principality Stadium is 39 km away. We couldn't asked for a better place to stay, warming studio with very comfy bed and the view from our windows were amazing. There's plenty of shops/pubs within 10min walk from James place. We forgot to thank you for the lovely Wales cakes James. We certainly coming back!!! It was perfect! Highly recommended. Thank you so much James& family.

I wasn't sure I could make the date I sent originally and Christine was very accommodating. We received a warm welcome and a thorough check in. My friends and I were doing a hike up Pen y Fan leaving very early in the morning. Christine made us a packed lunch to go full of the essentials and more. That afternoon, I returned in a bit of a state, cold and wet. Christine offerred to dry some of my wet clothes and I had a lovely long warm shower. To top it off, we all had a made to order full english on Sunday morning. Christine is an amazing host and we enjoyed her company and her husband's in a beautiful environment. 10/10 - we would visit again! P.S T to top if off, I left some headphones in Brecon which Christine offerred to post on. A star of stars!
