A traditional Icelandic breakfast is served every day at Vogafjos Café, located in a cowshed 3 minutes’ walk from the guesthouse. Dinner based on local produce, such as smoked lamb and trout, is also served here. First of all wow the cottages were super cozy with floor warming. (I love that). Everything was nice and clean and the beds were comfy. There's not much else I can say about it no negative things. And then the main building wow. We were greeted by super enthusiastic staff and they were so friendly. They asked us about our vacation and our plans. And they even gave some good recommendations. Also when my friend her snow boots got torn up in the front and in the back they had DUCKTAPE :D. So she could fix it. Ducktape fixes anything. And you could pet the cows :D. Also a good recommender is the breakfast boi was it Tasty and most of the products were produced locally

Located within 2.6 km of Myvatn Nature Baths, Birkilauf in Myvatn has a number of amenities, including lake and mountain views. With a terrace, the property also features a shared lounge and a fully-equipped kitchen. 11/10! host joanna was really excellent, she made sure that we were settled in and showed great hospitality! she had great recommendations on where to go, and also topped up the breakfast goodies for us when it was running low. the guesthouse also was really amazing - just 4 rooms and a huge living area and a very well stocked kitchen. all the kitchenware and appliances were high quality and super easy to use, and we really cooked up a feast every night because it really had everything you need! (including soy sauce for us Asians!) of the 3 nights we stayed here, we had a whole day of snow and so we just stayed in and watched tv (we really needed the downtime), and saw aurora right from the balcony one of those nights. the rooms a bit small but overall still comfortable and nice, and considering we largely hung out at the common area this really wasn't any issue. birkilauf was HANDS DOWN our #1 accoms in iceland and i will be recommending all my friends to stay here!

Situated by Lake Mývatn, this guest house offers basic rooms with shared facilities. The Mývatn Nature Baths is a 10-minute drive away. Free parking is available on site and the Ring Road is only a 3-minute drive away. Cute place, nice vibes. One of our faves so far in Iceland.

Quietly located 5 km from Iceland's Ring Road and 13 km from Lake Mývatn, this family-run guest house offers views over Sandfell Mountain. On-site facilities include 2 hot tubs and a communal TV lounge. Free WiFi is available in the common areas. Location was deep within Myvatn area but perfect as we were in the family cottage at the far end of the property. Windows had nets on them for summer, though it allowed us to open some of them for a short period without worry about the flies invading the room! Kitchen was well equipped, and a dining table with four chairs provided enough space for meals etc. Rooms were just about good enough size for two adults to fit in and blackout blinds dark enough to prevent light from disturbing the sleep. Shower/toilet was brilliant with no possibility of water from shower wetting the other areas, though we the window in the bathroom was not working. Parking was right next to the room.

Towels and bed linen are provided in the guest house. The accommodation is non-smoking.

At the property, there is an on-site family-friendly restaurant serving dinner and a selection of vegetarian options. Great place to stay for a night!

The geothermally heated Mývatn Nature Baths are 5 km away. The guest house is 30.5 km from Dettifoss Waterfall. Super big kitchen. Eating area with a view. Nice reception people let me check in early. Only me in the room. Heater was on when I got there and the whole place was very warm. Heated floor in the shower was amazing-- very deluxe.
