Which is hard to find for dormitories. And exceptionally clean. Really appreciated the quiet ambience and comfortable lounge, with complimentary tea and drip coffee. Lots of manga and books to browse through, along with a thorough sightseeing and food map. Also a very cute variety of Ghibli decorations and memorabilia in the lounge area. Location is close to Takayama Eki but in the snow it was a bit hard to go to and from with a wheel suitcase. Any other weather and it is completely walkable.

Besonders beeindruckend: Nachts konnten wir vom Haus aus den beleuchteten Fuji mit den Wanderern auf dem Weg zum Gipfel sehen – ein unvergesslicher Anblick! Der Service war ebenfalls hervorragend: Es gab kostenlos Zahnbürsten, eine Waschmaschine, Trockner, gutes WLAN und alles war sehr unkompliziert. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Klare Empfehlung! ***** We had a fantastic stay at Guest House Seidou in Fujiyoshida! The value for money is amazing – very affordable with everything you need. The place was clean, cozy, and well equipped. A special highlight: At night, we could see the lights of hikers climbing Mt. Fuji – absolutely magical! The service was excellent as well: free toothbrushes, washing machine and dryer, fast Wi-Fi – everything was smooth and comfortable. We felt completely at home and would definitely come back. I can’t say enough great things about this place. Everything is so clean and well kept, the staff is so friendly, welcoming and helpful and there is a wonderful sense of community among those staying there. The beds were also some of the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced at an accommodation.

This was such an unforgettable experience. We were supposed to stay for just one night but ended up staying 4! Okay, from the beginning. We had different accommodation in Hakuba, but we weren’t satisfied so we were looking for something else and found Dark Horse by chance. The moment we walked into the house, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Andy, Rika, Momo and Hana create something truly special. We’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and such, but this one will stay in our hearts for a long time. Everything is well thought out, you can see it’s taken care of down to the smallest detail, you can see it’s done properly and not just to be the cheapest. We felt so beautifully hosted. They also have an amazing sake collection to try, and the food is delicious too. Thank you again and we already miss it. I hope we’ll get the chance to meet again. PS.
