His help to sort out an accommodation problem at another venue for other members of our group, and driving us to catch a bus at short notice was way above 'call of duty'. His accommodation at Erimo self contained studio units have everything you need and more. These are a typical Japanese living space, not big, but pack in so many facilities in a small space it amazes me. They are modern, and spotlessly clean. There is also a shared communal room. Very easy to get anywhere around Sapporo from here. Either long or short term. Hiragishi subway station & the full supermarket (open 09 to 23.30) next to it are a 4 minute walk, a 7/11 is a 2 minute walk away.  Takashi speaks quite reasonable English. I highly recommended this place to stay.
