We didn’t spend much time in the common areas, but they looked inviting and cozy. We truly wish we had stayed longer.

The property was built in 1957 and has air-conditioned accommodation with a patio. Cosy house with nice host. Equipments inside with labels to make using easier. A lot of space, comfortable beds. I definitely recommend.

The restaurant and rooms are in an old restored house by the harbour so don’t expect huge Hilton or Holiday Inn style rooms but go with the vibe of tradition and intimacy. We rate this a 11 on a scale of 1-10. Thanks to Ringo (the German owner and chef) for making this return to Nyksund after 52 years very special.

At the guest house, all units are fitted with bed linen and towels. The dinner was the best we have had in Norway and it was wonderful to be one tiny part of preserving the history of such a beautiful place. We walked to the sculpture garden at our hosts recommendation and we were cozy inside while the wind blew and the sea crashed under the docking in the night.

The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. The place is so piecefull and quiet. I got a small but comfortable room upstairs in the 2nd floor. It was great! The toilet and bathroom are in the ground floor, so expect stairs up and down, but no problem for me.

The house itself is cozy and steeped in history; as the owner explained, it used to be a telegraph station. The owners are incredibly kind, friendly, and interesting people.
