For this night on our trip we were trying to decide between this home which had a bit more privacy, and a guesthouse that had breakfast provided. We opted for this place and it is excellent. The home is very well kept and was better than expected. It is right outside of town and very private. We loved it and would not hesitate to stay here again.

The property has mountain and garden views, and is 18 km from Skellig Experience Centre. Outdoor seating is also available at the villa. The host, Barry is a delightful person. He takes great pride in his place and worked overtime to make sure we were happy. Parking on the property is abundant and free. The views all around are stunning. Wonderful place to stay before and after visiting Skellig Michael as well as other areas Barry can tell you about.

Featuring mountain views, Purple Mountain Cottage provides accommodation with a patio, around 14 km from St Mary's Cathedral. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is located 15 km from Carrantuohill Mountain. This cottage is down a winding road where two cars cannot pass each other. The Gap of Dunloe is a wander to behold, though the road was much more narrow than I had realized. It is passable with patience and it is worth the journey. It was wonderfully idyllic. Horse and traps passed in front of cottage. Penny, the host, said it's possible to schedule a ride and be picked up at the house, but we didn't have the time. We walked to dinner at Kate Kearney's and enjoyed the scenery. Sheep and horses graze as you walk in the shadows of the mountains past the many lakes. I watched sheep graze beside the cottage as I drank my morning coffee. Would definitely schedule again if ever on this side of the world again.
