This was a perfect and magical place to stay, so perfect, we spent some part of our evening there trying to work out how we could return and spend a few days there. We had the room on the first floor that opens out onto the terrasse. It is a very very well designed, with tasteful antique furniture and furnishings. It was spotlessly clean. The bed was very very comfortable. The sheets, pillows etc were all of a top quality. There were reading lights on both sides of the bed. All the details for our comfort had been thought about and were there. There was a kettle and a large bottle of water. The wifi worked and was strong. Breakfast was served downstairs. We were asked in advance if we wanted salted or unsalted butter, what sort of jam we wanted. We had boiled eggs, yogurt and fresh fruit, fresh croissants and baguette. It was magnificent. We were given a wonderful welcome by the owners, a young couple who were both generous and kind in their listening and talking.

Old-style country house with spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable upper floor rooms. Exceptionally pleasant host and his dog. Nice breakfast with pancakes. Good wifi, private parking, nice countryside views all around.

From the very moment we arrived we were made to feel at home both by the warm welcome from Mary and the homely touches in the room which was quite large. The location was great, effectively on an island in the Loire, with great views of Amboise from a bar at the end of the street, and 10 min access to the town via the bridge. The shared kitchen takes a bit of coordination with other guests but it is a practical approach for the property and it works.
