The room was very spacious. The location is great! This was a nice break on my journey down south. The host are very interesting and hospitable with a clear effort to be sustainable and ecological.

Lovely, welcoming owners, who made us feel so welcome. Beautiful accommodation and grounds. Fantastic breakfast made with local produce and so much choice. A really lovely, friendly atmosphere. Would definitely love to stay again, and would thoroughly recommend

We have just spent two memorable nights at La Dixmeresse with the new owners, Geraldine and Charles, who treated us like guests in their own home. La Dixmeresse is a charming, historic property, sympathetically renovated to accommodate today’s needs. It is on the edge of Restigne, a small quiet village surrounded by vineyards and well located for visiting multiple chateaux and wineries in this lovely region of France. Our bedroom was large and tastefully decorated, with comfortable beds and high-quality bed linen and towels. It was spotlessly clean and had every convenience. Geraldine is an excellent cook. A lovely breakfast was included, and we chose to have dinner there both nights. For my husband, who is diabetic, she arranged a beautiful fruit plate for his dessert, instead of the decadent chocolate cake with crème anglaise that I enjoyed! Charles (English speaking) helped us plan our tour each day, suggesting places that we had overlooked and giving us advice about which routes to take that would be most scenic.

Quiet and peaceful castle gem at a small village 10 kms from Azay Chatêau du Rivau and Azay-Le-Rideau castles so very convenient to stay for a night. Plus, the food at the restaurant and petit dejeneur is amazing and fairly priced. The owners are very gentle and the room was spacious and the bed really comfy.

Set just 19 km from Château de Chinon, La Maison des Oiseaux provides accommodation in Crouzilles with access to a garden, barbecue facilities, as well as a shared kitchen.

What an exceptional establishment to stay in. An Abbot's Palace ffs. With a considerate and informative hostess. Also access to the garden and it's environs. Not 'conventionally' luxurious but everything that's required. Breakfast and coffee outside in the courtyard (large - remember this is an Abbot's Palace we're talking about here) just adds to the uniqueness. Then a tour around the accessable 14th century enormous chapel, with surreal animalistic/religious artwork. Truly accessable as the rooms were last occupied by retired nuns. Ramps on pretty much every threshold. And on-site produced Close de l'Abbaye Organic wine available in the office. Our stay was truly Heaven on Earth.
