United KingdomLocation great for those without a car - 5 minutes walk from the Senmo line station and good walking and cycling nearby. The hosts are helpful - they collected us from the station and took us back there for our early morning departure. They provided a (paid) taxi service so we could do the Mt Mashu hike and found bike hire for us. Meals are good and copious, and very social.

AustraliaEzo house has lots of character. The shared area was more than sufficient for our group of six. The rooms were very homey, comfortable and well kept. It’s easy to see the owner cares a lot. And there’s a cat!

AustraliaEverything about this hostel was amazing. I spent a night in the single Japanese style room and my bed was really comfortable, I had a great sleep. The facilities were so clean and easy to use. Location was great.

AustraliaSuzuki and his wife were really accommodating picking us up from the train station and even lent us a bicycle and fishing rod each so that we could explore teshikaga and the nearby lakes and mountains, great service can't wait to come back 👍

Not only did the owner speak really good English for Japan, his wife was also very eager learning each day and getting better. It was really great being able to exchange so much with locals.
