Since it was far from the city and you were next to the beach, we walked to Whiskey Point to surf. The place is to go to rest for two days away from the noise of Arugam Bay. I love the place and the gay work there.

- The owners are very nice people - Welcome drink freshly squeezed juice - We were well received even though we arrived at 3am - We were seen off at 6 am and they even gave us a wrapped breakfast to go - Beautiful fan in the room - Breakfast included in the price - Spacious bathroom - Purity - Mosquito net - There is a table and a chair (for us it was a workplace) - Wardrobe with shelves - Outdoor daytime sofa with coffee table - Large common area with dining area - Neat garden - Proximity to the ocean - Quietly, you can only hear the birds and the ocean - Feeling of personal space

Very clean, quiet & comfortable with easy access to the shops and beach. Our host, Nisha, was very sweet & even invited us to dinner on our first night where she cooked up a delicious feast! She assisted with a lagoon tour and laundry.

The location to main break and town is awesome, you can walk around to main point surf break (5mins) and also an easy 5 min walk along the beach the other way and can cut onto main road of Arugum really easily. Very accessible to what Arugum has to offer. Nisha and Kani (siblings) who run the property are absolute gems and are what made me enjoy Aragum, more than the crowded surfing! They’re are warm, friendly, love to chat and include you in family meals for everyone who works on site (we also made eggplant curry together and did a seafood bbq) and really gave a true sense of Sri Lankan culture to my trip. Thank you Nisha and Kani. They have tuk tuk’s on site to run you around for a nominal fee compared to tuk tuk’s in town, they’ll run you to surf spots early, into town to change out boards, nothing is a worry for them and they are super accomodating. Aircon works great, super good fans in room, if on high it would blow you off the bed - which was needed as when I was there the bay was super hot in the season beginning. The rooms are neat and clean and good value for money, especially given the location. Mosiquito nets around bed for peace of mind also! Drinking water provided near kitchen :):) Will stay again when I return! Thanks Nisha and Kani

Had a lovely stay at Yoga Shack for a week, it's a chilled surf, yoga community vibe. Location is great, right in the centre of town. Mike is an awesome host, attentive, accommodating, and great to hangout with. 3 yoga classes per day, and other cool activities like breathwork and ecstatic dance 🕺 Good wifi. Shared kitchen is always a win.
