Absolutely amazing hotel, very clean and spacious rooms, perfect location (5 mins from ticket office, 15 from polonnaruwa sacred city entrance), friendly stuff and hotel owner. I felt home. It’s really value for money - especially for the family who runs it. Shanta and his wife did their best to make me feel welcome and taken care of - they are so kind and friendly. I also had dinner here and it was homemade and delicious. The room is simple but you have the basic conditions you need. The location is also good - even though it’s a bit far from the ruins, the way to it is by the lake, which makes up for it! Thank you very much!

The house was spacious and set in a beautiful garden not far from the lake and within easy cycling distance of the museum and old town. The room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. The breakfasts are evening meals were generous and delicious. Binara and his family were friendly and welcoming . He speaks very good English and communicated clearly and promptly throughout. He went out of his way to ensure that I got the most out of my stay and was so kind and helpful in helping me with travel arrangements. He recommended a wonderful elephant safari with a very knowledgeable and experienced guide which I really enjoyed. This was a great base for exploring Polonaruwa and I would highly recommend Binara Homestay.

We had an amazing stay at Aruna Homestay over the new year. They invited us into their home and treated us like part of their family. They invited us to celebrated the new year with them. It was an amazing experience and Aruna and his wife and daughters are truly amazing hosts. The room was clean and comfortable - no complaints there - as advertised. We were able to also rent a scooter from Aruna to go exploring more the ancient city which was very helpful. All in all we had a fabulous time - only sad that we could not stay longer.

It was amazing. The host was superb, helpful and nice. Place is brand new and very clean. House is in perfect location close to restaurants and shops andl near the archeological site. You can rent bicycles on site what makes the sightseeing much more easier. I highly recommend this place.

I only had one night here but I loved this place. I was given a welcome drink, the room was spotlessly clean, the shower was fantastic, the TV worked, and the bed and pillow were the most comfortable I've had in Sri Lanka. Amazing value for money.
