The host Felipe was always helpful and very friendly. The location is awesome. The room is comfortable and has a great view from Douro River. The breakfast has plenty of options to eat.

Hospitable stay in this beautiful home just north of the village on our walk of the Camino Torres (on our route). Although a couple of kilometres north of town, there is a kitchenette with a fridge available for use by guests, which was helpful. The communal area is beautifully decorated and very comfortable with table & sofa seating. A gorgeous pool at the back of the property for better weather days. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, a comfortable bed and modern bathroom. Beautiful wooden floors. Everything was immaculate. Very quiet pretty countryside. Staying here with a car or even using the local taxi service would be very convenient to explore the local area from.

Arriving to this magic place, you feel immediately comfortable. Maria and her team are very attentive and friendly. They take attention to every detail, it is such a pleasure to enjoy it at any moment of the day. The Quinta is placed in the vineyards and offers you a breathtaking view into the Douro. The ambience at the pool area is just relaxing, with homemade snacks and limonade and not to forget a good glass of Porto. The breakfast and dinner are from very good quality and with a lot of variety. Our superior room with a private terrace has a pool and valley view, just amazing! Located in the hills behind Régua the accommodation is virtually new and kept in superb condition. Views from the room/balcony are breathtaking; a truly peaceful place. Beds are firm but comfortable and bathroom has a great shower. Very friendly owners treat you like family and the breakfast is plentiful with home made jams and their own fruit. Highly recommended.

we had the most wonderful stay at Casa Altamira, without a doubt the best place I’ve ever stayed in Portugal. The property is spotless and beautifully maintained, set in an amazing location with breathtaking views over the Douro River. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, going above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. He prepared an amazing breakfast, complete with fresh eggs from his own chickens — such a special touch! The atmosphere felt warm and homely, not least thanks to the three beautiful, loving dogs who kept us company and made the property feel even more magical. Casa Altamira is truly a gem, and we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!
