"A ver o mar rooms" is a well-kept, clean and professionally run hotel! First of all, I would like to mention Catarina, the manager/hostess of the hotel "A ver o mar rooms" - a very nice woman who is in constant contact with guests on WhatsApp, sending all necessary information before arrival via WhatsApp or via a message on booking.com . You can ask Catarina about everything and she replies almost immediately, she suggests what to visit in Madeira, can organize a paid group trip, or what interesting events are happening in Madeira, or where not to go because the tourist trails are closed - a caring woman to whom I send my warmest regards :) The kitchen was fully equipped for preparing meals. The room was also fully equipped, including a desk with a computer monitor, TV, and air conditioning. There was also a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, washing machine with laundry detergent, capsules, and fabric softener, and foldable clothes racks in the garden for hanging laundry. The garden also had sun loungers and garden furniture for lounging or sitting. I liked the location because it wasn't crowded. The "Meu Super" grocery store was right next to the hotel - you can do some shopping there and drink your morning coffee - very nice people. There is also a café and a barber shop downstairs below the hotel. "A ver o mar rooms" was close to the center of Santa Cruz, where you could go for lunch or dinner, or find a souvenir shop. There was also a Palmeiras Beach and Praia Santa Cruz and right next to the hotel - you can watch a beautiful sunrise in the morning with a view of the ocean and planes landing in Madeira or sunbathe in the presence of lifeguards. The exit from Santa Cruz onto the expressway was just after the roundabout. "A ver o mar rooms" in Santa Cruz was very close to the airport.

The host was very nice, he helped me park the car, and was always available. When I had troubles with a snoring and sick room partner, he offered me a different room. The rooms are clean and minimalistic. The bathroom was also clean. The beds are not so comfortable but they do for the purpose of sleeping. I was there in summer and had a light blanket but it was enough because it was hot outside. The location is great. It’s next to the airport, there is a beach down the road and a spot where you can also swim. I saw many jump in the water and swim there. Also restaurants and a supermarket nearby. But food inside the room is not allowed. So important to eat before you go to the room. I rented a car so I was flexible to move through the island. And at night it was nice to return to a spot which is safe and easy to reach. look, it’s not a resort. It’s for a purpose :). The purpose of sleeping and that’s it. It has wlan (network), it has a shared bathroom, it has a bed in a shared room. You spend the day in the island and at evening return there and sleep :). It’s good for arrival and departure day. Or days where you are nearby anyways. Also there is a costal hike which is not far from there. Best part is that the host is very nice. He respond fast. He helps with problems and is very polite. I like to support people like this because it’s genuine :).

    Everything you need for a good vacation in Madeira, if you want to feel the real, not the touristic, Madeira. The kindest host, truly welcoming and warm attitude. The restaurant serves traditional Madeira cuisine, locals also love this place. Fantastic location with the superb views.

    I liked that it was clean, the staff were all very lovely and the food delicious. Tolentino was a lovely host who is very polite and always greeted us with a smile. Great location and amazing view of the beach and the mountain.
