I stayed for 5 days while visiting my mother at the Ambers Care Center,and it would definitely be my go-to place should I need accommodation in Howick again. I had my main meal at lunchtime, so fortunately I didn't need to prepare much in the evening, but a welcome addition for me personally would've been a coffee plunger, otherwise everything else was perfect.
