We stayed with our family at Casa Selva in early August. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Leandro and his dog, Maui. Leandro is a warm host who takes the time to show us every corner of his beautiful house and garden. From the babbling brook to the chickens, and from the lovely rooms to the terraces. The house is centrally located yet just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Abraao. This offers the advantage of tranquility and close proximity to restaurants. Besides Leandro being a wonderful host with many recommendations, I also remember the pleasant conversations. We highly recommend the accommodation if you're staying on Ilha Grande. Idyllic is the word to use for Casa Arariba. It's set back a little further than the beach pousadas and it feels like it's right in the forest. That alone without mentioning the brazilian wildlife, super friendly cats, chickens popping in to say hi, dogs wandering past makes the place feel super close to nature. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, nice and cool, has a great shower and a super comfy bed..The owners also are really nice and you can see how much they care about their place and the nature around it.

There are kayaks, snorkelling gear and supboards available, free of charge. You can spend your days here in the sun, swimming and spotting turtles. Sometimes there are dolphins in the bay. Natalia can help you go anywhere you want on the island. Lagoa Azul, Gruta do Acaia, Praia Lopes Mendez, all within reach. If you are looking for a place to stay on Ilha Grande to have the most perfect island getaway, look no futher then Fauna. You will create memories that will last forever.

Saracura in Praia de Araçatiba provides adults-only accommodation with a garden and a bar. This beachfront property offers access to a patio. The guest house offers sea views, a sun terrace, and free WiFi is available. We had a lovely stay at Saracura. Stunning views from the balcony of our lodge, excellent breakfast, super nice staff and they were always happy to help us with anything. Maria suggested some boat trips for us as well which were super nice and well arranged. On top of all that, you can spot turtles straight from the pier, or watch them as you enjoy breakfast!
