Askham Hall is 42 km from the guest house and Muncaster Castle is 42 km away. I did not take breakfast - the room exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the small double room so we could have a terrace - was nice to sit on terrace in the evening/morning. Location was fantastic. Minutes to walk to the lake where you can take boat rides etc. Also many restaurants and pubs close by. Definitely recommend this place!! The staff was extremely nice - I was able to drop off my luggage early and leave it after check-out for 3 hours. Perfect for us!

Each stylish room has fresh light décor. Excellent location. Was able to purchase early parking and check in. The staff were helpful and welcoming. The hotel was clean, bright, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, fruit juices, fruit, yogurt, granola and cereals and a great selection of cooked breakfast choices.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels.

High ceilings in this traditional stone-built house give rooms a light, spacious feel. Beds are adorned in Egyptian cotton linen and there are also TVs and free Wi-Fi in rooms. Lovely warm welcome, beautiful room, spotlessly clean. The only place we have stayed which was better in reality than the advertising photos. Attention to detail was excellent, down to the herbal tea selection in the room.

Beautifully decorated, quiet, and inviting for a night in with a glass of wine in the lobby. The breakfast was lovely too, and the staff were very friendly. Loved all of the details in the room and the property. If you're interested in less touristy food, it's only a 30 minute drive to Ambleside, which has some fantastic restaurants and less tourists.

Just 1 mile from Lake Windermere this beautiful Victorian house is set in a peaceful location between Windermere and Bowness. The additional prosecco, chocolates and balloons was a perfect touch for my partners birthday. We've stayed in a few of the high end hotels in bowness and none of them had the personal touch or feel that this place did. Thank you, we will be returning.

Ellerhow is the best place that I have stayed on my journies ever! Spotless clean, comfortable bed, had everything that I needed for my staying in Windermere. I would defenitly like to stay there.
