At the homestay, each unit includes bed linen and towels. This 8-room inn was recently newly built, and my room was very clean and well-appointed. It’s in a good location in Fort Kochi, close to major sights. The couple that runs the inn were exceptionally welcoming and kind to me, and were very responsive over WhatsApp and in person. They helped me arrange an airport pickup, accommodated a late-night check-in, and booked for me at my request tickets to a Kathakali show and backwaters day trip (which was exceptional) and made all the logistics of my stay very easy. This was easily one of the best places I’ve stayed on my month-long trip to India.

Our stay in Monroe Island was one of the highlights of our three weeks in India and definitely some of the best food we ate on our trip (cooked by Vijeesh’s very talented sister and mum) During our stay we done a sunrise and sunset canoe tour with Vijeesh both were fantastic and we felt very safe throughout. Vijeesh as a host was very knowledgeable, helpful and funny and we felt very welcomed by the family as soon as we arrived. Vijeesh and his family have made something really special with this homestay and I would 100% recommend to anyone.
