ABSOLUTELY WOULD GO BACK ! The house is lovely, my room had a balcony which was so nice to be able to open the door and hear the water below and the wind in the trees at night. The bed was very comfortable and I had AC. The house shakes a little when a big truck passes by, but honestly it’s not that bad, it’s just the quirk of an old house. The bathrooms are shared which wasn’t an issue even with other guests, even the big shower room was always free when I needed it. There’s a communal room downstairs and a communal balcony too. The host was great, always ready to help if needs be and her breakfast were absolutely delicious 😋 I would have stayed a whole month just to have her cooking on the morning. Be advice it is traditional Japanese breakfast with fish and side dishes. I loved it and couldn’t recommend it enough, such a nice home cook meal to start the day. The location was easy to find, you can walk around to see multiple temples and shrines. There’s a street with street foods and restaurant 15 min walk away which I was on every night 😊 it was very easy to get to the seaside from Kamakura station and than to take the electric “classic” tramway. Just be aware that a lot of commerce and the railway close early, so planned your day accordingly. All in all I spent a lovely weekend at the B&B and would gladly go back again.

This is excellent for the value. Location is more than perfect - 400 m from train station Hase, from bus going to Kamakura, from Kotoku-in big Buddha, 100 m from Hasedera Kannon with 11heads and plenty of other amazing shrines and temples on the hills around. Beach is also at walking distance. Hosts are nice and kind.

Cozy, traditional and nicest staff! The closest onsen is beautiful! Oh and 2 minutes to Hakone open air museum. We really recommend this stay. Thanks for everything!

Moto-Hakone Guest House offers bright Japanese-style rooms, free WiFi and free-use yukata robes. This was an incredibly beautiful and cozy guest house in an excellent location. It was conveniently located near many tourist attractions as well as beautiful site seeing. Very easy to get to and just a few steps away from a bus stop. The host was exceptional at making me feel like a valued house guest and went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. I would definitely return to Moto-Hakone Guest House and I highly recommend it for your stay!
