本宮町にあるジェイホッパーズ熊野湯峰 ゲストハウスは、熊野本宮大社から車で10分または熊野古道を通って徒歩70分です。 熊野古道沿いにあるゲストハウスで、日本最古の温泉の1つと言われている湯の峰温泉まで徒歩5分です。 温泉2つ、露天風呂1つを併設しています。 自転車レンタルを利用できます。関西国際空港まで車で2時間30分です。 The hostel was fantastic. We rented a tatami room, which was spotless, very comfortable and with a really nice view. The onsen was amazing, we absolutely loved it. Everything was clean, there were snacks, eggs to boil in the onsens in town and all cooking and serving tools to eat them afterwards. The bathrooms were incredibly clean. This was our favourite stay along the Kumano Kodo, despite being the cheapest.

From communications prior to our arrival to meeting our host and the entire stay, we had a wonderful experience! The kitchen is large and fully stocked, they have a washer and dryer, and the rooms were exactly as listed. Our host was courteous and the staff would keep the guest house super clean. They even gave us a bottle of fresh squeezed locally farmed mandarin juice, which was delicious.

This place is a gem and a must stay if you hike on the Kumano Kodo! The Nonagase house belonged to the local Samurai clan and is being used as a guest house nowadays. So you get to stay in a place of historic charm. Nonetheless the guest house is quite comfortable and accommodating. The landlady aka manager Hitomi, alongside with her team, were splendid! To make the stay more easy for international guests, there are little notes left everywhere, which is truly endearing. In the back of the house there’s a beautiful beer garden which is open to passing hikers and guests alike. There you get the awesome-est bruschetta with home made goats cheese and all sorts of craft beer. Which brings me to the food: if you miss this, you will regret it! The owner of the guest house is Italian and the dinner was exquisite. Something you would never expect in the countryside of Wakayama. We would always come back to this place if we were to come to Chikatsuyu again.

The space is not big, but is enough for family of 4. Everything here works well incl washing machine, heater/AC. Location is very prime next to 7/11, yoshinoya, mos burger, Daimaru shinsabashi that has decent supermarket, food court, shake shack burger. My kiss loved these. The communication w/ the apt is great. We definitely coming back.
