We had a great stay at toranjyo lit, a traditional ryokan house. It is simple but has everything you need and it’s very charming. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, giving us tips how to structure our nioshima/teshima trip and picking us up from the bus stop.

The owner is very nice and came to greet me multiple times, and gave me some recommendations for restaurants. Would recommend to anyone staying in this area!

The property has quiet street views and is 13 km from Tanematsuyama Park and 16 km from Shinkeien Garden. The accommodation features a shared kitchen and luggage storage space for guests. Great spot on a perfect location by Jeans Street. The staff was welcoming, funny and helpful.

It is situated 12 km from Bell Kushida Memorial and provides a shared kitchen. Toyoharasumi Shrine is 16 km away and Nakazaki Residence is 17 km from the guest house. Very personal, the house is very traditional and owner let me borrow the bike to go to maejima, helping me looking up the ferry schedule

I went by car, but actually realised would be surprisingly accessible by public transport as a small JR station is very close by. Miwa-san was a truly lovely lady – exceptionally kind, and also interested in overseas culture. Much of the delicious food was home produced – homegrown rice from the paddy field in front of the house, home-made jams and bread, and home dried persimmons.

The place is in the historic village where not many people remained to live, so it is quiet. The nature around is beautiful and the shrines you find in the village are so peaceful. It was perfect getaway during the golden week. I felt like a part of the family, not even with hosts but many times also with the guests. The internet works pretty great and if not, there is a great signal reception.
