His English is really good and his sense of humour even better. His knowledge of the area and itinerary suggestions worked very well for us. We’d highly recommend the local izakaya 800m from his place.

It was a short walking distance to JR Nikko Station. Mrs. Arai was kind to prepare for us a very nice breakfast with full of fruit and veggies. Thank you for the stay!

This was our second time staying at the inn. Of course, the owners, Satoshi and Elizabeth remembered us and were just as friendly and helpful as our first visit 2 years ago. Satoshi remembered that we weren’t able to find a soba restaurant open on New Year’s day the first time and did research to find one for us. I was so touched by his kindness. There is a new lovely shared bathroom and many new interior design pieces. I’m still in love with the open air bath that can be reserved. It’s such a relaxing, friendly inn with lovely owners. I highly recommend it.

The location is very central and absolutely beautiful. The lake-view room was priceless—very comfortable and clean. The place itself is stunning, and in the evening it reaches an almost unreal sense of calm. Being by the lake as the sun was setting was an extraordinary experience. It’s definitely worth staying at least one night (but ideally more—there’s so much to do, especially for those who love nature and hiking). The guesthouse is very comfortable and extremely clean, even in the shared areas. There is great attention to detail. The staff were incredibly kind and truly helpful. A wonderful place.

Located in Nikko, 2.1 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Sanga Nikko provides rooms with free WiFi access. The property is set 10 km from Kegon Falls and 22 km from Nikkō-kokuritsu-kōen. Yoshi, the host, is a kind person and a nice person to talk to. I arrived with a small car and he arranged a parking space for me. The house is made of wood and gives a nice vibe. The room is spacious and the bed must be really good 'cause I was sleeping great. Yoshi gave me many tips for my travel plans in Nikko and even let me use his bear bell for hiking and offered me a pair of hiking shoes and heat bags. The location is very close to the train station and the center of the town. It's 20 minutes walk to the main temple. There is a guitar and a piano in the guest room that can be played. And there are plenty of amenities. The host has a picture booth where he can shoot close up photos of guests. He took a few pictures of me and gave me the photos as a souvenir. My experience was good and I enjoyed sharing and conversing with the host. Recommended.

Je recommande vivement !

Very cosy house, comfortable beds, large window overlooking the river. Everything seemed new and fresh and was very clean and tidy.
