The place is pretty, well maintained, and clean. Nice vibe to chill. All the staff is super friendly and welcoming. I appreciate the guide for a quick intro to the town, restaurants, and surf spots. I also appreciate the board with upcoming events around. Makai is at a ~6 min walk from the main street and in front of a bus stop in this main street, convenient to go to downtown or surf spots. Even more convenient if you have a motorbike. Some of the restaurants nearby are good so you can just walk to get good food. Would recommend!

The host is a very friendly and knowledgeable person, he has spent years driving tourists around so has good knowledge of what to do and what not to do, while being completely honest and not pushing anything on to you - which is very unique here. The breakfast was incredibly generous, luckily we fast from 4pm each day so we could fit it in by the morning. There was a large variety of food he kept bringing us so it certainly won't leave you wanting! The location is close to Galle so it makes access to the Fort quick and easy - which we loved. We were guests at Villa Ema for a week and it was difficult to leave. The villa is beautiful and gives you the feeling of being on holiday but at the same time a bit of home. We don't need to talk about the cleanliness - everything 10/10 and the service too. Every morning there is an insanely great authentic breakfast prepared by the grandmother. The family that manages this accommodation is just great, lovely and they turn every wish into reality. I even got a birthday present at the end. It was a wonderful holiday that I won't forget, we are very grateful for this hospitality and will definitely be back!

I recently stayed at the Nirosha Guest House and had a wonderful experience. The hotel offers incredibly affordable rates per night, making it a great choice for budget-conscious travelers. Despite the low cost, the quality of service and amenities exceeded my expectations. One of the highlights of my stay was the clean swimming pool.

We had a large room with our own bathroom and there is also a shared area between the rooms with some couches and a balcony. The fort is only a 15 min walk, which was fine. In the dark we did however prefer a tuktuk back.
