Richar, Lucrezia and Isabella are very lovely people and very generous hosts. Richar told us about the island and showed us around, Lucrezia’s cooking is truly wonderful and Isabella is a very nice girl, who would play cards with us in the evening. The rooms are very clean, there is a hot shower and it’s an easy walk from the port of Amantani. The island itself is so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect rest. At night the stars are magestic with Milky Way visible with naked eye. I would highly recommend staying at Richar’s place to experience the magic of the island in its authenticity. Also, from what I’ve read it is much better for the families who live on the island to book a stay directly with them rather than through an agency.

Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. This was probably my favourite stay in all of my travels across Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. I had a really special stay, dare I say a spiritual experience on the 8th of the 8th. Communication with Jose Louis and family was great from beginning to end, there were enough activities offered to make the most of the time, with also opportunities for peaceful solo time. Pilan’s cooking is incredible. Highlights were the sunset from the mountain, joining in the community dancing and fire ceremonies in the plaza and just the general chats with the family around the dinner table with the other guests. I felt so welcomed, warm and at ease - this was my home away from home for a night, I wish I could’ve stayed longer. It takes special kind of people to make you feel this was so thank you Jose Louis and Pilan and family for welcoming us to your beautiful home.

Isaac is a wonderful Sir and his wife as well funny, nice and makes great piece of art with her hands like pillows covers etc. room is large, food is great, breakfast fantastic and their care, attention and professionalism are to the top. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. The homestay features a sun terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. The room and the bathroom in such a good shape and new condition! Super clean and most importantly very nice and hot shower(had to wait few mins tho until it warms up). You might think you are far away from the central but there is a minivan that cost 1 soles takes you straight to central part within less than 10 mins and it comes so frequently that you will never have to wait! Big plus for letting us stay without a problem in the place for the whole full day (as we had to get the bus at night to Cusco). Very quiet location!

Set in Puno, near Bus Station and San Antonio Church, MADA Guest House Puno "Hospedaje" is a recently renovated property, featuring, a terrace and shared lounge. It is located 1.1 km from Plaza de Armas Puno and offers a concierge service. Staff on-site can arrange a shuttle service. A brilliant place to stay. The rooms are clean and well furnished (including a big TV with streaming services), breakfast was good, and the WiFi works well throughout the building. It was also generally quiet. The owner is super helpful and friendly, for example he looked after our bags when we arrived early and then later while we did a 2 day trip on the lake.
