Aleksandra and Sascha were incredibly welcoming. They gave advice for hiking and beaches to check out, and recommended restaurants. They also allowed us to use the kitchen to cook some fresh shrimp we bought from the local fisherman. The room was comfortable; air conditioning was not even needed because of the excellent fan. There was a comfortable common area for sitting in the evenings and eating meals. It was a short walk to the beach and restaurants. This was exactly what we were looking for -- a relaxed home away from home.

The location is excellent. The facilities as well (jacuzzi, nice rooftop terrace, comfortable bed, baby cot on request, fridge, kitchen and free water, coffee and tea, soap in the bathroom, more than expected) David and Elemis, the owners, are super hosts: always there to help, accommodate, taking into account the client's needs. This location was AMAZING! Very nice, clean and private. Especially the owners, Lars and Sheryll, they are amazing people. We can't wait to visit again.

Honestly everything was great. Maria is so sweet and she runs the place herself. She makes breakfast every morning and makes getting around for the day easy, just ask and she'll call up a motocoach or car. It's on the upper floor of her house (separate entrance up the stairs) and there's three rooms that are a great size with modern bathrooms, fans and A/C. The shared area is spacious and gorgeous, with a full kitchen, dining table and a nook with comfy chairs by the windows. It's in a residential area with a colmado on the corner if you need a quick snack or drink. All in all I think this was my favorite place I stayed at while in DR, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in La Romana :). (Pics were taken after checkout but the linen and sheets were great as well!)

Had an amazing stay at Akunamatata and would highly recommend it. The house was clean and spacious and only a few minutes from the Main Street of Grand Case and the beach. The kitchen had everything you needed while away. The outdoor area was relaxing and the bed very comfortable. Although we were sharing the house with other people it was a perfect place to stay. Thank you to Jamal for being so accommodating!
